Stripes at the Venice Beach Canals

Hi friends! Today I am sharing with you the first of my California posts! Alex took these pictures of me on Thursday morning after grabbing donuts  for breakfast from Blue Star Donuts on Abbot Kinney St, and yes they were amazing. After donuts we decided to take a walk down Ocean Front Blvd and enjoy the amazing weather, soak up the sun, and check out the sights. We veered off the  beach side path to check out the Venice Beach canals and I thought it would be the perfect spot for a quick outfit shoot! After shooting these we headed back to the beach and checked out Muscle Beach (where Arnold Schwarzenegger trained) and the skateboarders doing their thing. It was the perfect, relaxed morning and I wish I could repeat it again this week!  

Since we were staying in Venice Beach, I thought it was only fitting to wear stripes, as an homage to what the gondola drivers wear in Venice, Italy. I also wore my favorite high-waisted shorts from American Apparel. I've had these shorts for about five years and have worn them constantly. I love wearing them with a crop top or tucking a loose shirt into them to create a defined waist and a cute look. 

 Looking back at these pictures I already want to get back to California, the ocean, sunshine, and amazing seafood are calling my name!
